Focaccias are like pizza but without the need of toppings. They are that spongy bread from the Italian cuisine cut in stripes and that normally had some onion, tomatoes or olives (but it doesn’t need it because they taste amazing).
In Spain, they became famous because of some Italian food chain that popularised it.
Thing is I’m one of those who love thick spongy pizza dough and I know some of you are going to think that this is disgusting, but that’s who I am. I have invented done and a hundred ways to make pizza sauce without tomatoes but every time I want pizza, it too late in the evening to be willing to peel and cut some zucchinis to make my tomatoes sauce without tomatoes (I’ll tell you the recipe one day).
So focaccia is my big salvation. You just mix some olive oil with oregano and herbs and you get amazing tasteful bread that you can eat with anything. Also, they are so fast to cook if we don’t count the time for them to sit (which you can avoid but I don’t recommend if you want fluffiness).
