(English) Kaak Asfar

  • 525 grams flour
  • 1/2 tsps. Turmeric
  • ¼ tbsps. Anise seeds.
  • 1 tbsp. Black sesame
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • A punch of ground cloves
  • 60 milliliters olive oil
  • 7 grams dry yeast
  • 300 milliliters warm water


  1. Mix all the dry ingredients into a big bowl.
  2. Add water and olive oil and knead until you get elastic dough.
  3. Coat the dough with olive oil and wrap in plastic. Let it rise for 30 minutes.
  4. Make 150g balls with the dough and give them a round shape.
  5. Smash them with the “mould” and put them into a baking tray.
  6. Heat oven to 220º and bake for 10 minutes.
