Muhammara o crema siria de pimientos y nueces

Muhammara is, for everyone to understand, a kind of creamy spread from Syria made from roasted red bell pepper and nuts and, even tough I haven’t tried it, they have told me it’s delicious.

I have found some recipes with pomegranate but I have decided not to include it because I, basically, don’t like pomegranate and I don’t really get that fruit.

The difficulty of the recipe is level Hummus so you just have to blend the ingredients and serve. And you will be the most popular of every dinner/lunch/meeting if you bring such and exotic dish; even more if you learn the name (Muhammara, just for you to remember).

And paprika… well I have received an amazing present with three boxes and I finally decided to use the hot one but it’s up to you. If you don’t want to risk just use the sweet one and everyone will be pleased.

Muhammara Paté de Pimientos

  • Serves: 4
  • Level: 1 bol

Ingredients

  • 200 grams de pimientos de piquillo asados y sin piel
  • 2 tablespoons de tomate frito
  • 75 grams de nueces picadas
  • 2 tablespoons de aceite de oliva
  • 1 diente de ajo
  • 1/2 teaspoon de pimentón
  • 2 teaspoons de comino en polvo
  • Zumo de ½ limón

Instructions

  1. Poner todos los ingredientes en un procesar de alimentos o en un vaso de batidora y batimos bien hasta que no queden trozos.
  2. Servir en un bol y decoramos con nueces picadas y un chorrito de aceite de oliva.
